RECENT PURCHASE: Black Jersey Blazer - Internationale

The heat is back, so my blazers are becoming too 'hot and heavy', but due to certain events, I still have to dress smart and professional.

I was looking for an alternative that isn't silk like, as that stains too easily.

I found this in Internationale:

It says £19.99 on the website, but I got it on sale for £17.00 *Yay*.

It does look slightly thick in the picture, because it is made of a jersey fabric, but jersey (in general) is very breathable and almost weightless, (depending on the cut).

WARDROBE ESSENTIALS: The Black Handbag

The Black Handbag

Black has always been and will forever be the most 'accessorise-able' colour. 
It just goes with everything, which is a blessing because a large amount of all items fashionable are black.

The most convenient black hand bag is the over sized bag.
It can be used in the morning for school, evenings for late work shifts, and weekends for social events.

A black bag can be even more useful it it has long straps, as well short straps.

Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne (in Paris).

It is one of the only schools that teaches the traditional haute couture sewing techniques. 

RECENT PURCHASE: Two Way Belts

I don't shop in Next often, although while browsing through I found these cool sailor themed two way belts.

  The labels/tags are just sticky bits of cloth, so they can easily be removed so that it is not revealed that the belts are inside out.

The truth is, we see them EVERYWHERE - Yet, we can't really get sick of them because they truly are wardrobe basics.

It can be very tempting to grab a pair of sky high stilettos when advertised in store, and why not ?

BLACK HEELS ARE SEXY & POWERFUL

but you must compromise between comfort and style.

A girl should own two types of Black Heels.

COURT HEELS 

These are practical and stylish.

From college to corporate events at the office.

They have the same shape as the classic black heel, but a shorter heel for practicality and comfort.

Heels should be large and block shaped.

No more than 3 and a 1/2 inches

STILETTO HIGH HEELS

A lot more stylish than practical, but as they say - "Fashion IS Pain".

These type of heels will be more suited toward nights out and celebration events e,g, proms, weddings etc

The term stiletto actually refers to the needle like heel shape, rather than the height in inches.

An average high heel is around 4 inches. 

Sky Scraper Heels are around 6 inches.

When you have the classic black heel, you could try and experiment with other styles such as:

The fashion market are well aware that black heels are a common classic, so they will always be in stock in good retailers, no matter where you are. 

Shop around before making a final decision, specific stores may have some cool spins on the traditional heel which may suit you.

ART GALLERIES & MUSEUMS : The Horniman Museum

I've been to the Horniman a once before, but it was for a set project so I didn't really have time to exploring it properly.

This time I went for textiles and my aim was to try and be inspired by Colour, Shape and Pattern from Nature.
At first I thought it would be difficult, but after a couple of steps I just couldn't stop snapping pictures and sketching pieces.

Although Taxi Dermi Isn't my thing, the animals at the Horniman were quite interesting when it came to the theme I was looking for.
Here's what I found :



They even have a honey bee hive - With real bees, not stuffed bees 0.o
It's quite cool for such a local museum to have such cool stuff.
